Will Carter is a native of Roswell, Georgia. He suffered a traumatic brain injury in October of 2007, while he was a senior at Roswell High School. After a stay at the Shepherd Center, he was blessed to go on to get his Master of Fine Arts in Playwriting and Master of Arts in Teaching. Now, he lives in Smyrna, Georgia with his wife and daughter and works as a Limited Term Assistant Professor of English at Kennesaw State University. He loves his job, sharing his story with his students, and hoping to encourage and inspire them on to live their lives to the fullest.
This is not a memoir about what happened or how things were.
This is not a memoir that even attempts to be true, but when the coma drugs cloud your memory, you must make the story your own.
Will Carter's memoir, Getting Better, is Will's story of recovery after being in a car accident, suffering a brain injury and stroke, and being placed in a coma for three weeks, all during his senior year of high school.
His inspirational memoir tells how, with faith and love of parents and teachers, he faced seemingly insurmountable challenges to succeed in his education, career and personal life.
